David Montosa
David Montosa es artista transdisciplinar, especializado en performance e instalación. Estudia fotografía en la Escuela de Arte de Málaga y se muda a Barcelona para estudiar Bellas Artes en la Universidad, mientras cursa sus estudios participa en festivales como PalmaPhoto, creación Joven Desencaja o La Muga Caula. En 2020 filma su primer cortometraje, Mear Sentado, el cual escribe, dirige y protagoniza.

La espalda recta, el pecho hinchado, al sentarse: las piernas abiertas, andar con seguridad, liderar la manada. Todo lo que hace a un hombre hombre, no existe, es mentira. Es tan frágil lo masculino, que se derrumba con una pequeña ornamentación, con un atavío pequeño y brillante. En lo que parece una noche cualquiera, dos amigos se enfrentan a su peor enemigo:la construcción social del género. Sólo los hombres más valientes sobreviven. Una broma marica a la masculinidad.
Envuelta en tonos pastel y una pulida fotografía, esta historia que retrata a dos amigos conversando antes de salir pone contra las cuerdas a la normatividad partiendo de una cuestión tan mundana como el hecho de mear sentado siendo hombre. Entre la habitación y el baño, dos espacios interiores, íntimos, los amigos realizan una investigación en carne propia para responder a una pregunta nada sencilla: ¿qué los convierte en hombres?
Back straight, chest swollen, when sitting: legs spread, walking confidently, leading the pack. Everything that makes a man a man does not exist, it is a lie. The masculine is so fragile that it collapses with a small ornamentation, with a small and brilliant attire. In what seems like an ordinary night, two friends face their worst enemy: the social construction of sex and gender. Only the bravest men survive. The short film could be seen as a queer joke on masculinity.
Wrapped in pastel tones and a polished photography, this story that portrays two friends talking before going out questions regulations, starting from a matter as mundane as the fact of pissing sitting down as a man. Between the bedroom and the bathroom, two intimate interior spaces, the friends carry out an investigation firsthand to answer a far from simple question: what makes them men?
