Sinopsis:
El documental “Los hombres invisibles” abordará en 25 minutos la situación de la población masculina transgénero encarcelada a partir de los problemas de salud provocados por el binarismo de género que sustenta el sistema penal. Los hombres trans son aquellos designados como mujeres desde el nacimiento, pero que a lo largo de su vida han llegado a identificarse como hombres. Para la administración penitenciaria son mujeres u hombres invisibles. Esta película se enmarca en un contexto en el que la comunidad trans ha construido espacios, críticas y conocimiento sobre sí mismos y su lugar en el mundo, produciendo resistencias en un contexto significativo de violencia y recortamiento de derechos.
The documentary “The Invisible Men” will address in 25 minutes the situation of the incarcerated transgender male population starting from the health issues caused by the gender binarism that underpins the penal system. Trans men are those designated as women from birth, but who throughout their lives have come to identify themselves as men. To the penitentiary administration they are women, or invisible men. This film fits into a context in which the trans community has built spaces, criticism and knowledge about themselves and their place in the world, producing resistance in a significant context of violence and curtailment of rights.
Luis Carlos De Alencar
Luis Carlos de Alencar es de Bahía, Brasil, vive en Río de Janeiro, Brasil. Postgrado en Cine y Estudios Audiovisuales en M_EIA, del Instituto de Arte de Cabo Verde; Postgrado en Comunicación e Imagen de la PUC-Rio; Licenciado en Derecho por la Universidade Federal da Bahia. Socio en la productora Couro de Rato, dirigió Contagem Regressiva (Countdown), que recibió un premio en Rio WF 2016 a Mejor Documental y Mejor Banda Sonora, también fue nominado a Mejor Guión, se mostró en varios países, recibió una mención de honor en Festcine Amazonia y Mejor Documental: Festival de videos de 60 segundos o menos - Chestertown / Estados Unidos; dirigió el documental Bombadeira (El dolor de la belleza), llevado a más de 30 festivales nacionales y extranjeros y galardonado con el premio de RedeTrans - 10 años de Bombadeira, por el aporte de trabajo a la comunidad transexual. Actualmente dirige el largometraje "Não é a primeira vez que lutamos pelo nosso amor", o como se traduce "No es la primera vez que luchamos por nuestro amor", sobre la comunidad LGBT y la dictadura militar; el cortometraje "Homens Invisíveis" (Hombres invisibles), sobre los hombres transexuales y el sistema penitenciario; y la serie de ESPN "Corpos Periféricos".
Luis Carlos de Alencar is from Bahia, Brazil, lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Postgraduate in Cinema and Audiovisual Studies at M_EIA, from Cape Verde Art Institute; Postgraduate in Communications and Image from PUC-Rio; Graduated in Law from Universidade Federal da Bahia. Partner in the production company Couro de Rato, directed Contagem Regressiva (Countdown), which received an award in Rio WF 2016 for Best Documentary and Best Soundtrack, was also nominated for Best Script, was shown in several countries, received an honored mention in Festcine Amazonia and Best Documentary: 60 Seconds or Less Video Festival – Chestertown/ United States; directed the documentary Bombadeira (The pain of the beauty), taken to more than 30 national and foreign festivals and laureated with the award from RedeTrans - 10 years of Bombadeira, for the work contribution to the transexual community. Currently directs the feature film "Não é a primeira vez que lutamos pelo nosso amor", or as translated "It's not the first time we fight for our love", about the LGBT community and the military dictatorship; the short film "Homens Invisíveis" (Invisible Men), about transexual men and the prison system; and the ESPN series "Corpos Periféricos" (Peripheric Bodies).
